Privacy Policy for Clade

Clade is a local-first reptile husbandry app. Your app records — reptile profiles, feeding logs, weights, sheds, reminders, photos, and notes — and your local account credentials are stored on your device. Clade does not run ads, does not include third-party analytics, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Separately, if you join the Android updates list on cladekeeper.com, the website stores that email address. This is described below.

In its current version, the Clade app stores your husbandry records locally on the device where you use it. We do not operate a cloud database that mirrors your app records. If you delete the app or reset your device, your records are removed unless you have made your own device backup.

Information you enter into Clade — including reptile profiles, species details, feeding entries, weights, shed records, care reminders, photos, and notes — is stored on your device.

Your local Clade account, including the email and password you use to sign in to the app and your recovery code, is also stored on your device. These credentials are not sent to us. Your recovery code can reset your password on the same device only.

If you enter your email in the Android updates form on cladekeeper.com, our website backend stores your email address, the time you signed up, and a source label identifying the form. We use it only to contact you about Clade for Android. This website signup is separate from the app and is not linked to your app records or local account.

To have your signup email removed, contact privacy@cladekeeper.com.

If you attach photos to a reptile profile, those photos are stored on your device and used only inside Clade. Clade does not upload your photos to any server.

Clade uses local notifications on your device to deliver reminders you create (for example, feeding or weighing schedules). Notifications are generated on your device and are not sent through an external messaging service operated by us.

• No advertising of any kind.
• No third-party analytics or behavioral tracking.
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking identifiers.
• No selling or renting of your information.

We do not share your husbandry records with third parties. App records are stored on your device. We do not sell or share website signup emails.

Your Clade account is local. Deleting the account inside the app removes it and its records from that device, as does uninstalling Clade. For removal of a website Android signup email, contact privacy@cladekeeper.com.

Clade is intended for general use by reptile keepers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Future versions of Clade may introduce optional features such as cloud sync, exports, or family sharing. If we introduce features that involve transmitting your records off your device, those features will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before they become available.
